 There are many countries in Eastern Europe that are off the beaten track and Moldova is one of those countries. A small country with a population of under 4 million many would ask "Where is Moldova"? 

Moldova is situated in Eastern Europe and borders Romania and Ukraine, the country is famed for their wine exports all over the world, if you like your wines then you probably would off heard of this little country.



So besides visiting the many wine fields and distilleries in Moldova what else is there to do? The capital of Moldova is Chisinau a small city with a population under 400,000 and little known about for most travelers , if you are looking for places to visit in Moldova then a good place to start is on one of the many guided tours in Moldova , you can book a tour with any of the local tour operators that you will find around the city, these tours are not expensive you can expect to pay between 40/50$ for a 3/4 hour walking tour of the city. There are full day walking tours that will also include a traditional Moldovan dinner at one of the many local restaurants .




There are many local tours in Chisinau outside the city to monasteries and other points of interest, these tours usually are with a local guide who will also provide transport and collection from your hotel lobby, most tours outside the city are less than an hours drive so a good chance to get to know your local guide and learn about Moldova from a local perspective.
